Which languages and voices can I use?
Updated
Short answer
Write your idea in your language and StoryShort writes the script in that language. You can also ask for another language in your idea. Voices come from ElevenLabs, OpenAI and Qwen, and paid plans can clone their own voice.
Languages
There is no language menu. StoryShort writes the script in the language of your idea or script.
- Write your idea in Spanish, and you get a Spanish script.
- To get another language, say it in your idea, for example "write it in German".
- If your idea is too short to tell, the script is in English.
Captions follow the language of the script. The StoryShort website is in English, French, Spanish, German and Portuguese. The app itself is in English.
Voices
Voices come from three sources:
- The ElevenLabs voice library.
- OpenAI voices.
- Qwen voices.
You can listen to each voice before you generate. Many voices can speak several languages, so play a preview in your language first.
Clone your own voice
On a paid plan, you can clone your voice from a short recording, then use it like any other voice. YouTube does not ask for an AI label when you use your own cloned voice for voiceovers.
Captions
Captions are animated word by word. You can choose between 33 caption styles.
